Gays and the Church

I was recently discussing the Church and it's stance on Gays and Gay marriage with my Dad.I came to a realization, that the reason the Bible states that a marriage is between a man and a woman is because the people that wrote the Bible were anti-homosexuals.Remember,this is not the word of God,but a man's interpretation of God's word with all that person's feelings(similar to a movie director  and his interpretation of a novel or story). In either case, the story line is mostly factual, but they do take some artistic freedom. If there was no homosexuality around when the Bible was written, there would be no need to state what a marriage is or is not.I think it may be time for all of us (including the Church)to be a little more tolerate of people who are different than us and more accepting.

While I'm at it,I'd like to offer my take on God.There is one God,I believe we can all agree on that. But, I think the God that the various religions pray to is just that one God.Christians and Jews and Muslims and Buddists and Hindus are all praying to one Supreme Being.I think when we get to meet God,he is going to look like our image of him(or her).If we all could wrap our heads around the idea that all the religion's Gods are one and the same being, maybe we could stop all these religious wars.

Liberals

I now understand what is wrong with this Country. My wife and I overheard a discussion about Healthcare in America. What was truly upsetting was not the idea that everyone in this Country deserves to have Healthcare(although I believe that anyone who is here illegally does not deserve it,nor their siblings, unless they wish to become citizens, pay taxes.......), but that they were equating what is going on now with the immigrants of the past(using the Italians as a reference), The problem with their thinking(as with most liberals) is that they were legal immigrants. They came here for a better life and wanted to be Americans. Our new immigrants have no desire to become citizens, don't want to pay taxes(to help pay for the Healthcare they desire) and usually send their money back home(so they can retire in style or help their families live back home). Of course, these same kids(teens or early 20's) didn't happen to offer any suggestions on how we're going to pay for all these uninsured people. It is so sad that these kids are influenced by their teachers, professors or the extremely liberal media. These kids are so easily influenced and the liberal educators and the media take advantage of this. Rather than presenting both sides of the issue at hand, and letting the young adults form their own opinions,  they just continue to push their liberal agendas. Another thing they don't understand is that we can't fix all that is wrong in this Country at once.  We have to prioritize our problems and deal with them accordingly. For instance, rather than dealing with the Healthcare issue, we should actually be dealing the economy and unemployment, so we can pay for the Healthcare
I have an idea for our Representatives. It's a way to reel in the gas companies. How about we find out exactly what the profits were for the oil companies(say, $1,000,000,000.00: I know, it's on the low side), and then figure out a reasonable price for gas(say, $2.55 a gallon). Then we lock that price in for the year. Our Representatives make it a law that the prices cannot go up for the entire year. At the end of the year, we re-evaluate their profits. If they're still doing well, the price remains the same. If they're not doing so well, we adjust the price. Because, I'll tell you, I'm getting real tired of the yo-yo price of gas. And, how about when a holiday is coming up, the price goes up. Or, when the summer's coming, the price goes up for the summer and then down after it's over. Then, we go after the Insuance companies. We have the government regulate the rates. No more outrageous increases. Both of these industries have done quite well, but now it's time to put a stop to their raping of the people. And, if our Representatives have the balls to do this, the maybe they will actually begin to be for the people(you know, by the people, for the people.....).

Our President

I heard something very interesting on the radio today. Sean Hannity had mentioned that Sarah Palin recently addressed an audience of 22,000 people in a town of 25,000. Our President was only able to draw a crowd of 200 people in the same town of 25,000 for his big Health Bill push(even George Bush could have done better). Clearly the writing is on the wall. It is embarassing that the President could only get 200 people to come out and listen to him try to get support for this very unpopular legislation. Are these Democrats kidding me? They were unable to pass the Health Care Bill with a fillibuster proof majority in the Senate. So, now, they're going to send the Bill to the house for a vote, while they draw up an amended Bill to fix the original one, which might pass before the original Bill is voted on, thereby essencially passing the original Bill. It makes me wonder what exactly is in that Health Bill. Why are the 3 mouseketeers(Pelosi,Reid and Obama) pushing so hard to pass a Bill that is so unpopular. We'll never know until after the Bill passes. I hope everyone is taking notes for all the upcoming elections, although, there might not be any elections the way this country is headed.
